Overcoming House Training Issues - The Ultimate House Training Guide

The Ultimate House Training Guide is unique in its multidimensional approach to resolving house training issues.

Most house training guides (and I have read quite a few of them) focus solely on puppies and people who are raising them in a home with a yard.

The ‘Introduction’ is very well done and definite must read. Scoop Olliver very intelligently begins with a list of terms and their definitions which is very important to someone new to dog training. .

House training problems Having these terms at the beginning of the book rather than as an appendix (which he also has) means readers can immediately go forward fully armed with the terminology they need to understand.

Also in the introduction, Scoop’s explanation of the dog vs. human viewpoint is helpful reading for both the new dog owner and those who are old hands (like me) at dog training.

It’s a pointed reminder that we humans view the world very differently than our dogs.

I deeply appreciate Scoop’s honesty. This course is not presented as a miracle solution that will solve all your house training problems in ‘Just three easy steps!’ He’s very forthright about the need for time, patience, persistence and consistency. Amen!

Rome wasn’t built in a day and, unless you are extraordinarily lucky, your puppy housetraining problems won’t be overcome in a day.

Now, how often have you waded through a training manual, of any kind, reading all sorts of material not directly applicable to you and your situation? Too many times to count!

Well, apparently Mr. Olliver has had the same experience and has decided to spare his readers the wasted time. This ebook is not designed to be read from beginning to end.

Housebreaking puppy tipsOn page seven is a fantastic chart which shows the reader exactly which parts of the book are applicable to their situation. Puppy: Trained or Untrained. Adult Dog: Trained or Untrained.

Under each of the four categories are listed the sections of the book that should be read.

What an incredible time saver!!

The reader is able to go directly to the sections of the book with relevant housebreaking puppy tips to their particular circumstance.

Brilliant!

This ebook also takes into consideration that not everyone lives in a nice suburb with a fenced in back yard. Several alternative methods are discussed including paper training (my only point of disagreement.

I think this is messy and very unsanitary and a better way is to use potty training pads which have a plastic backing on them) and the use of dog potties and litter boxes.

There is even a section on ‘House Training Tips for the Busy Owner’.

House training issues

The section on crate training is very well done, right down to teaching the reader how discern if the crying they hear fro their puppy is from loneliness or a need to eliminate.

The book concludes with a thoughtful and informative discussion of various house training problems, their causes and how to solve them.

I believe this is a very valuable tool for anyone who has house training issues and needs to train or retrain their puppy or dog in the fine art of appropriate elimination.

I highly recommend it!
